Palworld's Japanese Twitter (X) account confirmed the global release, excluding Japan. They apologized for the delay and stated that a Japanese release date remains undetermined. The statement emphasized their commitment to bringing the game to all PS5 users as soon as possible.
While Pocketpair hasn't explicitly stated the reason for the delay, the ongoing legal battle with Nintendo and Pokémon is widely considered the primary cause. Nintendo's recent announcement of a Tokyo court case seeking injunctions and damages against Palworld further fuels this speculation. A successful injunction could force Pocketpair to cease Palworld operations entirely, potentially resulting in the game's removal from all platforms.
