SEGA's financial report for the fiscal year ending March 2024 indicates that Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X), the gacha spin-off, is under consideration for release in both Japan and globally. The report notes the game's initial sales are meeting expectations, prompting exploration of broader international distribution.

Persona 5: The Phantom X Global Release Being Considered by SEGALicensed by Atlus, Persona 5: The Phantom X initially launched in a soft-launch capacity for mobile and PC in China on April 12, 2024, expanding to Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, and Taiwan on April 18. Published by Perfect World Games (South Korea) and developed by their subsidiary, Black Wings Game Studio (China), the game is currently undergoing open beta testing.

Players assume the role of a new silent protagonist, "Wonder," a high school student by day and a Persona-wielding Phantom Thief by night. This Phantom Thief group works to right societal injustices stemming from corruption and greed.

Persona 5: The Phantom X Global Release Being Considered by SEGAWonder's initial Persona is Janosik, inspired by Slovakian folklore and embodying a Robin Hood-esque persona. The original Persona 5 protagonist, Joker, joins Wonder's team, alongside a new character, YUI.

Maintaining the series' hallmarks, P5X features turn-based combat, social simulation, and dungeon crawling, but integrates a gacha system for character acquisition.

New Roguelike Mode: Heart Rail

Popular Persona content creator, Faz, showcased the new Heart Rail roguelike game mode in his gameplay video. This mode, exclusive to the current China release, bears resemblance to *Honkai: Star Rail*'s Simulated Universe, offering power-up choices, varied map exploration, and stage completion rewards.

SEGA Reports Strong Full Game Sales

SEGA also reported consistent sales for new titles in its "Full Game" category, encompassing both new releases from Japanese studios and continued sales of previous fiscal year releases. Notable performers included Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (1 million units sold globally in its first week), Persona 3 Reload (1 million units globally in its first week – Atlus' fastest-selling title ever), and Football Manager 2024 (9 million players since its November launch).

SEGA's FY25 Outlook and Restructuring

To further capitalize on success, SEGA announced a restructuring, creating a new "Gaming Business" segment. The company plans to expand its online gaming presence in North America, establishing it as a third pillar of their business model.

This new segment will also encompass SEGA SAMMY CREATION's slot machine development and sales, and PARADISE SEGASAMMY's integrated resort operations.

SEGA projects increased year-on-year sales and profits for FY2025, forecasting 93 billion Yen (approximately $597 million USD) in revenue for the Full Game segment – a 5.4% increase. A new Sonic title is also anticipated for next year.
