Here are ten fantastic PlayStation 1 games now available on the Switch eShop, a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern convenience. While I'm wrapping up my retro eShop series due to dwindling console options, I saved the best for last: the PlayStation's groundbreaking library! These games, once revolutionary, remain enjoyable classics. The list below is presented in no particular order.

Klonoa: The Door to Phantomile – Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series ($39.99)

Klonoa deserves more recognition than it received. A standout 2.5D platformer, you guide a charming, floppy-eared creature through a dream world to thwart a looming threat. Expect vibrant visuals, responsive gameplay, memorable boss battles, and a surprisingly impactful narrative. While the PlayStation 2 sequel isn't quite as strong, this collection is a must-have.

Final Fantasy VII ($15.99)

A monumental title, Final Fantasy VII catapulted JRPGs into the Western mainstream. Square Enix's masterpiece and a key driver of the PlayStation's success. While a remake exists, this original remains a classic, showcasing the charm of its polygonal aesthetic. Its enduring appeal is undeniable.

Metal Gear Solid revitalized a dormant franchise. While later entries took a more eccentric turn, this original remains a thrilling, action-packed adventure reminiscent of a G.I. Joe episode. G-Darius masterfully transitioned Taito's classic shooter into 3D. Its chunky polygons, while showing their age, possess a unique charm. The vibrant colors, innovative enemy-capture system, and imaginative bosses deliver a stellar shooting experience.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition ($19.99)

While following Chrono Trigger was a Herculean task, Chrono Cross stands on its own as a clever, visually stunning RPG. Its large cast of characters, while unevenly developed, adds depth. Plus, it boasts one of the greatest video game soundtracks ever.

Mega Man X4 – Mega Man X Legacy Collection ($19.99)

Lara Croft's early adventures are collected here. While quality varies across the trilogy, the original is arguably the best, focusing on tomb raiding rather than action. This collection lets you decide.

moon ($18.99)

A unique Japanese release finally localized, moon subverts traditional RPG tropes. More of an adventure game, it's a "punk" experience with moments of frustration balanced by thought-provoking elements.
