Pokemon GO Reveals New Shadow Raid Day Plans

Pokémon GO's Shadow Raid Day: A Fiery Ho-Oh Return

Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokémon GO announces a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th, 2025. This marks the first Shadow Raid Day of the year, offering trainers a prime opportunity to capture this powerful Fire-type Pokémon.

This event builds upon the success of Shadow Raids introduced in 2023, providing a unique way to obtain these formidable Pokémon variants. Following successful past events featuring Shadow Moltres and Shadow Mewtwo, Ho-Oh takes center stage.

Event Details:

  • Date & Time: Sunday, January 19th, 2025, 2 pm to 5 pm local time.
  • Featured Pokémon: Shadow Ho-Oh (increased shiny encounter rate).
  • Raid Passes: Spin Gyms to receive up to seven free Raid Passes (a $5 ticket increases this limit to 15).
  • Special Move: Teach your Shadow Ho-Oh the devastating Charged Attack, Sacred Fire (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 power in Raids/Gyms) using a Charged TM.

Enhanced Gameplay with Optional Ticket:

A $5 event ticket significantly boosts your raid experience:

  • Increased Raid Pass Limit: Obtain up to 15 Raid Passes from Gyms.
  • Increased Rewards: Enjoy 50% more XP and double Stardust from raid battles.
  • Higher Rare Candy XL Chance: Maximize your chances of acquiring this valuable item for powering up level 40 Pokémon. (All ticket bonuses last until 10 pm local time on January 19th.)

An Ultra Ticket Box ($4.99) will also be available, including an event ticket and a Premium Battle Pass.

Beyond Ho-Oh:

This Shadow Raid Day is just one highlight in a busy January for Pokémon GO. Recent events included Community Day featuring Sprigatito and the introduction of Fidough. Future events to anticipate include Community Day Classic (January 25th) and the Lunar New Year event (January 29th - February 2nd). Stay tuned for further details!
