The Pokémon Company has taken a significant step to address the ongoing challenges fans face in acquiring the latest Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) sets. In a recent statement, the company acknowledged the difficulties and confirmed that reprints of popular sets are on the way, aiming to meet the high demand and ensure more fans can enjoy the game.
The launch of the latest set, "Destined Rivals," was marred by shortages, pre-order issues, and the impact of scalpers. This set, along with other recent releases like "Prismatic Evolutions" and the "Blooming Waters" box, have been extremely sought after, making them hard to come by for many enthusiasts.

In their official statement on the Pokémon website, The Pokémon Company (TPC) recognized that "some fans are experiencing difficulties purchasing certain Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) products due to very high demand impacting availability." They expressed understanding of the fans' disappointment and assured that they are "actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity."
The company also promised that reprints would be available at participating retailers soon. Moreover, TPC plans to "maximize production" for future TCG expansions to ensure better availability at launch and will "continue to reprint impacted products" to keep stock levels healthy, including at the Pokémon Center.
In response to scalping issues, The Pokémon Company indirectly addressed the problem by emphasizing their commitment to a "smooth purchasing experience" at the Pokémon Center. They employ technology, such as a virtual queue during high traffic periods, to prioritize fans. The company stated, "We will continue to explore measures that help create the best possible experience for Pokémon Center customers," and thanked the community for their patience and support as they strive to improve product availability.
With these assurances from The Pokémon Company, fans are hopeful that collecting and playing the Pokémon TCG will become less stressful with the arrival of new sets.
