"New Puzzler Game Raises Diabetes Awareness with Challenging Gameplay"

By AllisonApr 05,2025

The gaming world is set to welcome a new and challenging puzzler, Level One, coming soon to iOS and Android. This game draws its inspiration from the personal experiences of developer Sam Glassenberg, who, along with his wife, cared for their daughter JoJo after her diagnosis with type-one diabetes. Glassenberg shares the challenges of maintaining a delicate balance, administering insulin injections, and meticulously monitoring their daughter's diet.

Despite its vibrant graphics, Level One promises to be a demanding game, mirroring the intensity of managing diabetes. A single moment of inattention can result in a game over, powerfully illustrating the constant vigilance required in real life. This metaphor is not lost on players, making the game both a challenging entertainment and an educational tool.

Raising Awareness

Level One's launch is in partnership with Breakthrough T1D Play, a diabetes awareness charity founded by parents in the gaming industry who also care for children with type-one diabetes. With over nine million people worldwide living with this condition and 500,000 new diagnoses each week, the mission to raise awareness is crucial.

I believe Level One will significantly contribute to raising awareness about type-one diabetes. Given the mobile gaming community's appetite for hardcore challenges, this colorful puzzler is poised to both entertain and educate. Mark your calendars for its release on March 27th for iOS and Android, and be sure to check out the store pages when they go live.
