Rust Unveils Major Update with Improved Cooking and Farming Features

Rust, the renowned multiplayer survival game, has just released a significant update known as The Crafting Update, designed to enhance players' creative capabilities through a host of new features. A standout addition is the culinary workbench, allowing survivors to whip up gourmet meals like grilled chicken legs, perfectly complemented by a shot of Siberian vodka. Crafting these dishes involves following specific recipes, and well-prepared meals offer stat boosts and gameplay-enhancing modifiers, adding a strategic layer to the culinary aspect of the game.

Players can now raise chickens and chicks in dedicated coops, where these feathered friends will live, lay eggs, and flourish if properly cared for. Each chick has four crucial needs to monitor: Hunger, Thirst, Love, and Sunlight. Failing to meet any of these needs can lead to the unfortunate demise of the birds. The meat from chickens will spoil over time, rendering it unusable unless preserved in a working refrigerator. Additionally, food items now come with timers to alert players of their expiration dates, adding a realistic element to resource management.

For those with a penchant for sweets, wild beehives can now be discovered on trees. Extracting honeycombs requires careful handling and transferring them to player-crafted hives made from wooden boxes. Bees are not to be taken lightly; they are aggressive adversaries, and players must don protective suits, douse themselves with water, or resort to using flamethrowers to avoid painful stings. A novel addition to the arsenal is the Bee Grenade, which looks like a jar of honey but, when broken, unleashes three swarms of furious bees, sending players scrambling for cover.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, introducing a dedicated tech tree for plumbing and electricity. This update empowers players to construct sophisticated automated systems and even entire factories, enhancing the game's depth and complexity. In a strategic move to improve the gaming experience, the developers have introduced premium servers. Access to these servers is restricted to players whose Rust inventory is valued at a minimum of $15, aiming to create a more enjoyable environment by filtering out cheaters and disruptive players.
