Where to Find Sam in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

To achieve the best ending in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, completing certain tasks is essential, and saving Sam is a key part of that journey. Knowing where to find Sam during the "Reckoning" quest is crucial if you're aiming for perfection.

Rescuing Sam During "Reckoning"

As you near the end of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer's Camp, captured by Brabant. Your mission to save him unfolds during the main quest "Reckoning." Infiltrating the camp is your best bet, and you have the choice between stealth and violence.

To move freely within the camp without arousing suspicion, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can obtain one by either killing a guard and stealing his attire, ensuring to hide the body afterward, or by looting one from the numerous chests scattered around the camp. Once you have the outfit equipped, you can explore the camp to locate Sam without being questioned.

Sam is located in the barn on the left side of the camp, just past the open area with a cooking fire. To reach him, use the ladder on the side of the barn and drop down inside, where you'll confront Brabant. At this juncture, you have critical choices to make: you can either kill or spare Brabant. Opting to spare him contributes to achieving the best ending, but the decision is yours.

When to Rescue Sam

After freeing Sam, it's not yet time to escape with him. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, who is also in the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then secure a horse, and finally return to Sam to get him out of the camp. Sam can wait safely, and this sequence makes the tasks more manageable, especially since you'll need to carry him to the horse.

Von Aulitz is located in the main part of the camp. Wearing the guard's outfit allows you to enter his quarters without issue. Upon finding him, you'll see that he's already dying. He requests a dignified death, which is the most honorable choice. Alternatively, you can kill him brutally or leave him to die slowly. Interestingly, leaving him to die actually contributes to the best ending.

Your final steps involve retrieving Sam from the barn where you left him. If a guard questions your actions, simply explain that you're moving a body, which will dispel any suspicion. Head towards the camp gates, exit, and turn right to follow the perimeter.

As you follow the camp's outer edge, you'll reach the stables. Choose a horse, and escape with Sam, bringing you one step closer to completing the main quests of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
