Saros Was Announced at the State of Play February 2025
Releasing in 2026
Housemarque has unveiled Saros, their much-anticipated new game, at the February 2025 State of Play. Scheduled for release on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro in 2026, Saros promises to build upon and enhance the exhilarating gameplay of Housemarque's acclaimed third-person action game, Returnal. The game will introduce players to the character Arjun Devraj, portrayed by the talented Hollywood actor Rahul Kohli.
Come Back Stronger
Housemarque's creative director, Gregory Louden, has shared that Saros was crafted to allow Returnal to stand as a unique entity. The new title aims to establish a separate intellectual property (IP) that will evolve the storytelling and mechanics introduced in Returnal. While Returnal offered an ever-changing roguelike experience across shifting biomes, Saros will introduce permanent and evolving loadouts, including weapons and suits, enabling players to "Come Back Stronger" and overcome any challenges they encounter.
Stay tuned for more details as an extended gameplay look is set to be released later in 2025.
