"Silksong Absent from Gamescom 2024"

By DavidApr 09,2025

The gaming community was hit with a wave of disappointment when Geoff Keighley, the producer and host of Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, confirmed via Twitter (X) that Hollow Knight: Silksong would not be featured at the event. This news came as a blow to fans who had been eagerly anticipating any updates on the much-awaited sequel to the beloved Hollow Knight series.

The initial excitement stemmed from Keighley's announcement of the event's lineup, which included a tantalizing "+ More" hint, leading many to speculate that Silksong might finally break its silence after over a year without news. However, Keighley quickly quashed these hopes, stating, "Just to get this out of the way, no Silksong on Tuesday at ONL." He did, however, reassure fans that Team Cherry, the developers behind Silksong, are diligently working on the game.

While the absence of Silksong news was disheartening, Keighley's announcement did not leave fans completely empty-handed. The lineup for Gamescom 2024's Opening Night Live still promises an exciting array of titles, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Civilization 7, MARVEL Rivals, and more.
