Stellar Blade's highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC update, Patch 1.009, unfortunately introduced several game-breaking bugs. Shift Up, the developers, are working diligently on a hotfix.
Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
The update caused softlocks for some players during a specific main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing further progress. Others experienced crashes while using the Photo Mode's selfie camera, and some new cosmetic items failed to render correctly on Eve.
Shift Up advises players to avoid forcing quest progression and await the hotfix. Attempting to circumvent the issue might lead to permanent softlocks even after the patch is released.
NieR: Automata Collaboration and Photo Mode Enhancements
Patch 1.009 delivers the exciting NieR: Automata collaboration! Eleven exclusive items are available via Emil, a character from NieR: Automata, who has set up shop within Stellar Blade's world. This collaboration, born from mutual respect between Directors Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro, adds a unique dimension to the game.
The much-requested Photo Mode finally arrives, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature. Four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after completing a specific ending) that alters Tachy Mode's appearance have also been added. Further customization options include a "No Ponytail" setting. Additional improvements include lip-sync support for six more languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functionality for the instant death skill, and various minor bug fixes.
