Stellar Mercenaries has just launched an exciting new upgrade with the Jupiter Expansion, significantly enhancing the game's content. This update nearly doubles the gameplay with new worlds, enemies, and missions, all set against the backdrop of the solar system's largest planet.
For those new to the game, Stellar Mercenaries is a thrilling vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter. Players engage in procedurally generated missions, customizing their ships and weapons to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.
What’s New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?
The Jupiter Expansion transforms Jupiter and its moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—into dynamic battlegrounds. Each moon presents unique challenges: Ganymede's barren wastelands, Io's volcanic debris, and Europa's treacherous icy landscapes, while Jupiter itself is notorious for its fierce storms.
Two new factions enter the fray: the Jovian Empire, a formidable military force aiming to dominate the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic alliance of outlaws.
The expansion introduces 50 new missions with diverse objectives, including hyperspace hunting, piracy, escort duties, and train defense scenarios.
Players can now command six new ships: the Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker. Additionally, the arsenal expands with new weapons like the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.
New Hazards, Shields, and More
The update also introduces Tier 4 shields and armor, along with new hazards such as asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier. Some enemy mercenaries have been upgraded, introducing new classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk.
To enhance the immersive experience, the expansion adds 14 new music tracks and introduces a new side missions system. Dive into the expanded universe of Stellar Mercenaries by checking it out on the Google Play Store—there's a wealth of new content waiting for you!
