Unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2024's Xbox showcase, Threads of Time is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S and Steam. While a release date remains unconfirmed, PS5 and Nintendo Switch versions haven't been ruled out.

Generating considerable pre-release buzz, Threads of Time is poised to compete with Sea of Stars as a spiritual successor to Square Enix's Chrono series. This retro-style RPG from indie developer Riyo Games blends classic charm with modern sensibilities.

"At Riyo Games, we're dedicated to creating retro-inspired RPGs that evoke cherished childhood memories," the studio stated in its announcement. "Our journey began with a childhood promise—two friends, playing RPGs by a CRT TV, vowing to one day craft epic adventures together."

The narrative jumps across eras, from dinosaurs to robots, culminating in a battle against a threat to the very fabric of time. Stunning anime cutscenes enhance the compelling storyline.
