Activision has revealed a fresh crossover event for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, bringing back the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This isn't the first time these heroes have graced an Activision shooter.
While specifics regarding the collaboration's content and launch date (described only as "soon") remain undisclosed by the developers, the website CODWarfareForum has offered some unverified details.
Rumored additions include operator skins for all four turtles (a notable absence of April O'Neil, Master Splinter, and Shredder is lamented by some). New melee weapons and finishers are also anticipated: skateboards, katanas, nunchucks, and staffs. The crossover's primary events are expected to unfold on the Grind map, a skatepark setting perfectly suited to the theme.
Despite the announcement, fan reaction has been muted. This isn't due to a lack of popularity for the TMNT franchise, but rather stems from the current troubled state of Black Ops Cold War. The game's prevalent bugs and rampant cheating have significantly diminished its player base.
