Getting Started as an Archer in Rune Slayer

If you're new to the Archer class, pay close attention. Veterans can feel free to skip ahead. As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to maintain a safe distance from your enemies, using your arrows to deal damage. While Archers can unleash significant damage, they're less resilient when it comes to taking hits.

Archers wear Medium armor, which strikes a balance between Light and Heavy armor. Unlike Light armor users like Magicians or Priests, Archers don't have protective spells or the durability of Heavy armor. Instead, they rely on teammates and, crucially, their Pets to absorb damage.

Tamed Pets are essential for Archers. Although your initial pet options are limited, Archers eventually gain access to unique pets unavailable to other classes, making them exceptionally powerful.

How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer

At Level 30, all classes in Rune Slayer can choose a subclass. For Archers, the choice is between Sharpshooter and Beast Tamer. Opt for Beast Tamer immediately upon reaching Level 30.

There's currently no compelling reason to choose Sharpshooter. While firing multiple arrows simultaneously might sound appealing, it pales in comparison to the Beast Tamer's key advantage: the Alpha Predator passive ability. This ability lets you tame unique beasts like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and notably, Mud Crabs. Beast Tamers are so robust and versatile that they can even tackle many group activities solo.
