The primary method for obtaining Trap Tools is by purchasing them from the Provisions Stockpiler at your Base Camp. Interact with this NPC and browse their inventory; Trap Tools are available for 200 Zenny each. Stocking up on these is highly recommended, especially for focused monster farming or completionists aiming to capture every species.

Unlike other resources, Trap Tools are exclusively vendor-purchased at Base Camp and cannot be found in the environment.

Utilizing Trap Tools

With Trap Tools in hand, you can craft various traps. Combine them with a Net (and Spiderweb or Ivy) to create a Pitfall Trap, or use them with a Thunderbug Capacitor for a Shock Trap.

While both trap types are effective, remember that monster immunities exist. For example, Shock Traps are ineffective against Rey Dau, a lightning dragon. In such cases, a Pitfall Trap is the better option.

A critical limitation: you can only carry one trap at a time. Strategic deployment is key, reserving their use for moments of monster vulnerability.
