Ubisoft has confirmed the cancellation of the early access period for Assassin's Creed Shadows, originally planned for those who purchased the Collector's Edition. This follows the previously announced delay of the game's official launch to February 14, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Furthermore, the price of the Assassin's Creed Shadows Collector's Edition has been reduced from $280 to $230. The Collector's Edition will still include the artbook, steelbook, figurine, and other previously announced items. Unconfirmed reports suggest Ubisoft Quebec is exploring the addition of a co-op mode featuring both antagonists, Naoe and Yasuke.

According to Insider Gaming, the early access cancellation stems from challenges in maintaining historical accuracy and cultural representation. These concerns, alongside the need for additional polish, contributed to the game's delay.

Ubisoft Montpellier has disbanded the team responsible for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, despite the game's positive critical reception. French outlet Origami reports that this decision is attributed to the game not meeting sales expectations. While specific sales figures remain undisclosed, Ubisoft has acknowledged disappointment with the game's performance, reflecting the company's broader challenges this year.

Abdelhak Elguess, senior producer of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, stated in an IGN interview that the team is proud of their work and confident in the game's long-term success. He confirmed that the game's post-launch content roadmap is complete, with three free updates and a DLC released in September. Future plans include a Mac release "by this winter," and reassignment of team members to other projects within Ubisoft. The company expressed continued enthusiasm for future Prince of Persia titles.
