Ubisoft Reveals Customization and Progression in Assassin

Ubisoft has unveiled exciting new gameplay features for *Assassin's Creed: Shadows*, emphasizing the equipment and progression systems for the game's protagonists, Yasuke and Naoe. A highlight that fans will love is the enhanced functionality of the iconic Hidden Blade, promising a thrilling experience.

Both Yasuke and Naoe will feature unique skill trees that cater to their distinct combat styles. Yasuke, trained in samurai techniques, will have a skill tree that enhances his prowess in battle, while Naoe's skill tree will focus on honing his shinobi skills. Players can earn skill points by engaging with the open world, completing objectives, or taking down formidable opponents like the Daisyo samurai. These points can then be used to unlock weapon-specific abilities or to refine their fighting techniques.

To maintain balanced progression, both characters will advance at an even pace, ensuring neither falls behind. Unlocking some of the more powerful abilities requires specific in-game actions, such as tracking down a mysterious shinobi group. Other upgrades are connected to the "Knowledge" scale, which players can increase by studying manuscripts or praying at shrines. Achieving the sixth Knowledge rank will unlock an entirely new skill tree, adding depth to character development.

Ubisoft also detailed the game's equipment system, where gear is categorized into five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Players can upgrade their equipment at a blacksmith and customize their appearance. Armor and weapons come with special perks that can significantly alter gameplay, providing strategic advantages in combat.

The Hidden Blade, a staple of the *Assassin's Creed* series, makes a triumphant return with the ability to instantly eliminate enemies with a single, precise strike. *Assassin's Creed: Shadows* is set to launch globally on March 20 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, and is poised to captivate fans with its rich gameplay mechanics and engaging narrative.
