The Staff of Ice, a unique Wonder Weapon in Black Ops 6 Zombies, starts weak but transforms into a high-round powerhouse. This guide details its upgrade process on The Tomb map.

Prerequisites:

Before upgrading, you need the Staff of Ice itself. Obtain it from the Mystery Box or by collecting its three parts. Early access to the Dark Aether Nexus (via the Door to Nowhere) is crucial.

Upgrade Steps:

Step 1: Freezing Dark Aether Crystals

Freeze three Dark Aether Crystals rapidly using the Staff of Ice. These crystals are found in underground lanterns (black frame, purple glow). Perks like Stamin-Up and PHD Flopper (with Tribologist) significantly aid this step. Optimize your route; a suggested path involves the tomb area, the Shrine of the Hierophants, and the Subterranean Temple entrance lantern. Successfully freezing the crystals triggers a quote from Archibald and opens the Dark Aether Nexus.

Step 2: Targeting Floating Runes

Within the Dark Aether Nexus, locate three floating rocks with glowing purple Runes. Shoot each Rune with the Staff of Ice (a hitmarker confirms success). This lowers the rocks, making Rune identification easier. A scoped weapon might improve accuracy. The order is irrelevant; shoot all three.

Step 3: The Rune Symbol Puzzle

A stone wall replaces a portal in the Dark Aether Nexus. Return to the corresponding map area. A wall displays Runic symbols; three match those from the floating rocks. Shoot these three with the Staff of Ice. The portal will reopen, but only correctly shooting the Runes ensures proper progression. Incorrect attempts may result in a mid-air drop in the Dark Aether Nexus; try again after a round or two.

Step 4: Orb Escort

Interact with the purple orb that appears after successfully completing the Rune puzzle. The orb moves; kill zombies near it to power its journey. The purple trail from slain zombies fuels the orb's movement. Guide it to the central structure in the Dark Aether Nexus, where it creates a small purple portal. Interact with the portal to upgrade the Staff of Ice to Ull's Arrow.

Ull's Arrow Abilities:

The upgraded Ull's Arrow boasts a powerful charged AoE attack and an alternate fire mode for reviving downed teammates, similar to its Black Ops 2 and 3 counterparts.
