Don't Nod, the French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the initial chapter of their latest narrative adventure. Players can currently experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching free to all owners on April 15th.
Initially unveiled in 2023, the game centers on a close group of friends shattered during the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the echoes of that summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Blending the nostalgic charm of coming-of-age stories with the suspense of psychological thrillers, the game draws clear inspiration from titles like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. The game's structure is divided into two parts: "Bloom" and "Rage." Only "Bloom," the first half of this chilling narrative, is currently available (February 18th).
"The Tape," encompassing the second half, will arrive on April 15th. Initially planned for a March release, the launch was delayed to allow for additional refinement.
The review embargo has been lifted, with OpenCritic showing an average score of 74/100, indicating a promising start for this captivating mystery.
