World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm Event Delayed
The highly anticipated return of World of Warcraft's Plunderstorm event has been postponed due to unforeseen technical difficulties. While Blizzard initially aimed for a launch before the end of January 14th, 2025, no new release time has been announced.
Plunderstorm, a popular pirate-themed battle royale mode introduced during the Dragonflight expansion in 2024, was set to return with both original and new rewards. However, unexpected issues arose during the planned server maintenance, resulting in a delay beyond the extended eight-hour downtime.
When will Plunderstorm be available?
Currently, Blizzard has only stated that the event will launch sometime before the end of January 14th, 2025, once the unforeseen issues are resolved. A specific timeframe remains unavailable.
In the meantime, World of Warcraft players can still enjoy other in-game activities, including completing Siren Isle weeklies, progressing through the Turbulent Timeways event, or engaging in other content within the War Within.
The upcoming Plunderstorm iteration includes new features such as the Plunderstore and an in-game event interface. These additions may be contributing to the current delays.
Despite the event delay, the Plunderstorm Twitch Drops are still active. Viewers can earn the Coward’s Azure Target transmog by watching four hours of any World of Warcraft Twitch stream before February 4th at 10 AM PST. The streamer does not need to be playing Plunderstorm for viewers to qualify.
