A Knight's Tale: A Walkthrough of Honkai: Star Rail's "The Last Knight" Side Quest

"The Last Knight" is a side quest in Honkai: Star Rail's Wuthering Waves region, offering a charming, albeit less epic, narrative compared to the main storyline. It provides a glimpse into life beyond Ragunna City and rewards players handsomely. This guide offers a concise walkthrough.

Starting the Quest

Begin by completing Chapter 2 of the main storyline, specifically the "What Yesterday Wept, Today Doth Sing" quest. Many side quests in Rinascita are locked until this point. After completion, locate Cosimo in Egla Town, Whisperwind Haven. He's near the first house by the main road, marked by a blue quest marker.

The Night Reveries

This involves a nighttime performance centered around a legendary knight. To encounter the Mad Knight, adjust the in-game time to between 6 PM and 6 AM. Find him at the town's central pool. Defeat him using your strongest attacks.

Mimic Chest Challenge

After defeating the Mad Knight, travel to the highest tower in Egla Town and then fly to Carlow's location (marked on your map). He'll be unconscious near a large purple flower. Interact with the flower to be transported to a mimic chest challenge.

The first three chests are genuine. In the next set, only one is real; the others are mimics. The correct chest is the second one in the middle-left. Open it for Astrites and other rewards, but prepare for a fight with the remaining mimics.

The Knight's Trail and a Strange Scent

Follow the quest markers to the second and third locations associated with the Mad Knight, interacting with NPCs along the way.

After speaking with Mr. Millkeeper, Abby will mention a strange smell. Follow the marker uphill to encounter a unique Chop Chop with invulnerable Leftless and Rightless. A Questless Knight Echo is highly recommended for this fight, allowing you to parry and stun the Chop Chop.

Mr. Millkeeper reveals the "Mad Knight" legend was a fabrication, prompting Carlow to flee.

Finding Carlow

Return to Egla Town (during the day) and find Carlow in a town plaza. He'll be facing ridicule from two knights. Carlow's defiant response and challenge to a duel concludes the quest. You'll receive Union XP, Astrites, and resources as rewards.
