Freedom Wars Remastered Shows Off Gameplay Systems

Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases its improved gameplay and control systems, offering a fresh look at this dystopian action RPG. Players will once again battle formidable mechanical creatures known as Abductors, gather resources, upgrade their equipment, and complete challenging missions. This remastered version boasts significant enhancements, including upgraded visuals, faster-paced action, a refined crafting system, a challenging new difficulty setting, and all original customization DLC included.

Freedom Wars Remastered launches January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC. The game's core loop—fighting massive mechanical enemies, collecting materials, and upgrading gear—remains intact, offering a similar experience to the Monster Hunter series, though with a distinct futuristic setting. Players take on the role of a "Sinner," sentenced to complete missions for their Panopticon (city-state) to atone for the crime of being born. Missions vary, from rescuing citizens and eliminating Abductors to securing control points, and can be tackled solo or cooperatively online.

Enhanced Gameplay and Visuals in Freedom Wars Remastered

The trailer highlights several key improvements. Visually, the game receives a significant boost, with PS5 and PC versions achieving 4K (2160p) resolution at 60 frames per second. PS4 players can expect 1080p at 60 FPS, while the Switch version runs at 1080p but at 30 FPS. Beyond the visual upgrade, gameplay is faster and more fluid thanks to refined mechanics, increased movement speed, and the ability to cancel weapon attacks.

Freedom Wars Remastered also features a completely overhauled crafting and upgrade system. The interface is more intuitive, and players can now freely attach and detach modules. A new module synthesis feature allows for enhanced module upgrades using resources obtained by rescuing citizens. Finally, a new "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode provides a significant challenge for experienced players. All previously released customization DLC from the original PS Vita release is included from the outset.
