Iansan: The New Bennett Replacement in Genshin Impact?

By BlakeApr 26,2025

Bennett remains one of the most valuable and beneficial characters in *Genshin Impact*, maintaining high relevance since the game's launch and being a staple in various team compositions. With the introduction of Iansan in *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, set to launch on March 26, many players are questioning if she could be the new "Bennett replacement." Let's delve into whether Iansan truly lives up to that title.

How Does Iansan’s Kit Compare to Bennett’s in Genshin Impact?

Iansan, a 4-Star Electro Polearm character from Natlan, serves primarily as a support, offering both damage buffs and healing. Her Elemental Burst, The Three Principles of Power, mirrors Bennett's in that it buffs other characters. However, Iansan's approach differs; she summons a Kinetic Energy Scale that follows the active character, boosting ATK based on her Nightsoul Points. Unlike Bennett's static field, Iansan's scale encourages movement, restoring Nightsoul Points based on the distance traveled by the active character.

Iansan's ATK bonus scales differently depending on her Nightsoul Points; below 42 out of 54, it scales with both Nightsoul Points and ATK, while above 42, it scales purely with ATK. This suggests that Iansan's build should prioritize ATK. In contrast, Bennett's field provides healing up to 70% HP, significantly outpacing Iansan's healing capabilities, who cannot even heal herself. Additionally, Bennett can infuse Pyro into the active character's Normal Attacks at C6, a feature Iansan lacks.

For exploration, Iansan offers unique advantages, such as consuming Nightsoul Points to sprint and jump longer distances without stamina. However, Bennett's utility in Pyro teams remains superior due to Elemental Resonance, which provides a +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion.

Bennett raises his fist triumphantly.

Should You Choose Iansan or Bennett in Genshin Impact?

While Iansan shares many similarities with Bennett, she doesn't outright replace him but serves as a strong alternative. Her kit offers a fresh gameplay style, eliminating the need to stay within a fixed field for buffs, as required by Bennett's Burst. Iansan's Kinetic Scale encourages active movement, making her particularly suitable for second-team compositions in the Spiral Abyss.

If you're interested in trying out Iansan, you can do so in Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, launching on March 26. *Genshin Impact* is available to play now.
