Mastering Demon's Hand: League of Legends Card Game Guide

By CalebApr 26,2025

*League of Legends* has launched an exciting new minigame called Demon's Hand, available in the client until the end of April. If you're familiar with *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay mechanics quite similar, making it easy to jump right in.

League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started

To get started, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will launch the introductory story and guide you into your first round of the card game.

On your screen, the bottom row of cards represents your hand. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and percent crit chance. Just above that is your Sigil box, where you can have up to six active Sigils at once, starting with none. Remember, your health isn't replenished after each battle; you'll need to visit tent locations on the map to restore a percentage of your health.

The enemy is depicted by the card at the top, with its health shown in the bottom right and damage in the bottom left of the card. To the left of the enemy card, you'll find an attack coin indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy strikes back. On the left edge of the screen, there's a book listing all the hands you can play as attacks and their base damage in a standard round.

How To Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends

To inflict damage, you'll need to play poker hands, each with unique names in Demon’s Hand, but following the same poker rules. The pinnacle hand is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here's a rundown of the hands and their corresponding poker terminology:

  • Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
  • Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
  • Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
  • Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
  • Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
  • March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
  • Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
  • Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
  • Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
  • The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)

In addition to the base damage, the numerical value of each card adds to the total damage. If the enemy has a special ability negating a specific suit, cards of that suit will be crossed out and won't contribute their numerical value to the base damage.

Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils

Sigils add an extra layer of strategy to your gameplay. You can purchase Sigils during store phases, marked by coins on the map, which you earn by defeating enemies. Each Sigil has a unique ability that you can view by hovering over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils enhance specific hands, like boosting the damage of Dyads, while others might give you additional turns before enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.

That's everything you need to know to play the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn't your cup of tea, be sure to check out the upcoming April Fools skins for some fun in Summoner’s Rift.
