Guide to Saving Progress in R.E.P.O. Cooperative Horror Game

By MiaDec 01,2025

The cooperative horror game R.E.P.O. offers thrilling physics-based gameplay for up to six players. Your team must navigate diverse maps, retrieve valuables, and extract them safely. To ensure your progress is preserved, here’s how to save your game in R.E.P.O.

Steps to Save Your Progress in R.E.P.O.

Few things are more frustrating than launching a game only to find your progress lost. This is especially true for new titles like R.E.P.O., where saving mechanics may not be immediately clear. Unlike some games with autosave features, R.E.P.O. requires specific actions to secure your progress. Missing these steps, often buried in tutorials or unclear in-game, can lead to lost efforts.

In R.E.P.O., saving occurs automatically only when you complete a level. There’s no manual save option, so exiting mid-mission or dying (which sends you to the Disposal Arena) erases your progress. If you die, your save file is deleted, and quitting during a level forces you to restart from its beginning.

To save, complete a level by delivering valuables to the Extraction Point, returning to the truck, and holding the message button overhead to signal the Taxman, your AI boss, to proceed to the Service Station. There, you can shop before using the same button to advance to the next level.

After leaving the Service Station for the next location, it’s safe to exit to the main menu or quit the game. When you or the session’s host (if another player started the game) reloads, you can resume as normal. Note that the host must exit properly to save the game for all players; if the host quits prematurely, everyone is disconnected.
