Techland is pushing the envelope with Dying Light 2 by introducing Tower Raid, an exciting new mode that blends roguelite elements with high-stakes survival. Following extensive testing, this eagerly awaited feature is now a permanent part of the game, offering players a novel way to navigate the perilous, infected world.
In Tower Raid, you won't be playing as Aiden Caldwell. Instead, you'll take on the role of one of four distinct warriors: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. Each class boasts unique abilities, fostering varied playstyles and encouraging strategic teamwork. For thrill-seekers, the mode allows you to scale down your team size or even brave the tower's dangers solo.
The mode offers three difficulty levels—Quick, Normal, and Elite—each affecting the intensity and duration of your run. With procedurally generated sessions, no two tower ascents will be the same. You'll face shifting floor layouts and unpredictable enemy encounters, making adaptability crucial for survival.
To keep the challenge fresh, Techland has implemented a new progression system. Every unsuccessful run unlocks new abilities and weapons, enhancing your chances in subsequent attempts. Within the tower, you'll meet Sola, a mysterious merchant who trades rare items such as the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those skilled enough to earn them.
Even as they prepare for the release of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland remains dedicated to enriching Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Upcoming updates will feature enhanced co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, expanded community map integration, new Tower Raid characters, additional melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, improvements to the prologue, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
