LEGO Launches In-House Gaming Ventures

By EvelynMay 26,2025

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has recently shared the company's ambitious plans to expand its footprint in the digital realm through the development of video games. These initiatives will see LEGO not only creating games on their own but also engaging in strategic partnerships to bring their iconic brand to life in new and exciting ways.

“We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.” Niels Christiansen

This strategic move into game development does not mean LEGO will abandon its lucrative licensing agreements with third-party developers. For example, last month, gaming journalist Jason Schreier reported that TT Games, renowned for its LEGO-themed titles, is actively developing a new game, likely in collaboration with Warner Bros., showcasing LEGO's continued commitment to external partnerships.

Currently, LEGO's most prominent venture in gaming is its successful collaboration with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year became an instant hit, highlighting the brand's popularity and potential in the digital space.

Over the past two decades, LEGO has been closely associated with the adventure game series developed by TT Games. Although new projects from the studio have been relatively quiet, there are whispers that a new LEGO Harry Potter game is on the horizon, inspired by the success of the commercially acclaimed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Furthermore, LEGO's partnership with 2K Games resulted in the release of LEGO 2K Drive, a racing game that launched last year. This venture further demonstrates LEGO's versatility and adaptability within the gaming industry, showcasing their commitment to offering diverse and engaging experiences for gamers of all ages.
