"Valheim: Discover All Merchant Spots"

Quick Links

Valheim is all about exploring new biomes and gathering materials to prepare for epic battles with its formidable bosses. The journey can be tough, especially in challenging areas like the Swamp and Mountain, where even a single misstep can lead to a quick demise. However, amidst this harsh world, Valheim offers some relief through its merchants. At the time of writing, there are three merchants in the game, each providing valuable items to help you navigate the dangers more effectively. Given the game's procedurally generated worlds, finding these merchants can be a challenge. Here's where to locate each one and what they have to offer.

How To Find Haldor In Valheim (Black Forest Merchant)

Haldor is one of the easiest merchants to find due to his proximity to the world's center, spawning within a 1500m radius. He's located in the Black Forest biome, which you can explore relatively early in the game.

Haldor often appears near The Elder's spawn area, the boss of the Black Forest. You can pinpoint The Elder's location by checking the glowing ruins in Burial Chambers. Given the vast area, the Valheim World Generator, created by wd40bomber7, is a helpful tool. It allows you to input your world seed and locate the Trader's position. Haldor can spawn in multiple locations, but once found, he will remain there.

Upon discovering Haldor, it's wise to build a portal for easy access. Trading with him requires gold, which you can acquire by exploring dungeons and selling gems like Rubies, Amber Pearls, Silver Necklaces, and more.

How To Find Hildir In Valheim (Meadows Merchant)

Hildir, unlike her brother Haldor, sets up shop in the Meadows, the game's least dangerous biome. However, finding her is more challenging because she tends to spawn far from the world center, between 3000 and 5100m.

To locate her efficiently, use the Valheim World Generator. If you prefer a more adventurous approach, search the Meadows within the specified radius. Each possible spawn point is about 1000m apart, so be prepared for some sailing. A T-Shirt icon on the map indicates her location when you're 300-400m away. Once found, build a portal for convenient travel.

Hildir specializes in clothing with various buffs, allowing you to choose items that match your character's style without losing the beneficial effect. Additionally, she offers quests to retrieve her lost items, leading you to new dungeons in different biomes:

  • Smouldering Tombs in The Black Forest
  • Howling Caverns in Mountains
  • Sealed Towers in The Plains

Completing these quests and returning the chests to Hildir unlocks new items in her shop with diverse effects.

How To Find The Bog Witch In Valheim (Swamp Merchant)

The Bog Witch is the newest addition to Valheim's traders, found in the treacherous Swamp biome. Navigating the Swamp requires upgraded gear, so it's advisable to prepare before setting out.

She can be found between 3000m and 8000m from the world center, with spawn points 1000m apart. Using the World Generator can simplify the search, but if you're up for the challenge, look for her Cauldron icon on the map when you're close. Once located, she'll stay in that spot, so bring materials to build a portal.

The Bog Witch is unique as a friendly Greydwarf with a magical Kvastur that keeps her hut clean and fights off enemies. Her hut offers a comfort level of 3, and she provides access to new items for cooking and crafting special meads.
