Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode. Following negative feedback, the studio has reverted a controversial update that increased the delay between zombie spawns after five looped rounds.

The January 3rd update introduced this change to the Citadelle des Morts map's Directed Mode, impacting kill farming and camo challenge completion. The subsequent January 9th patch notes confirmed the reversal of this decision, restoring the spawn delay to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. This decision followed community outcry, with Treyarch acknowledging the change was not well-received.

In addition to this key reversal, the update includes:

  • Citadelle des Morts Bug Fixes: Several bugs impacting quest progression, visual effects, and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment have been resolved.
  • Shadow Rift Ammo Mod Buffs: Significant buffs have been implemented for the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, increasing activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies, and reducing its cooldown timer.
  • Global Fixes: Various stability improvements and fixes for UI and audio issues have been implemented across the game.

The patch notes also highlight upcoming changes:

  • Season 2 Update (January 28th): Further bug fixes and adjustments are planned for the Season 2 update, including resolving the Vermin double-attack bug.
  • Dead Light, Green Light LTM Adjustments: The Limited Time Mode (LTM) has been updated to include Liberty Falls and increase the round cap to 20.
