Remedy Entertainment's goal is to push the boundaries of the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog's work, particularly the Uncharted series, the team at Remedy aspires to be recognized as "the European counterpart of this iconic firm," according to Kyle Rowley, director of the Alan Wake 2 video game.
In an insightful interview on the Behind The Voice podcast, Rowley shared how this inspiration shaped the development of Quantum Break and subsequently Alan Wake 2. "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog," he emphasized, highlighting the studio's ambitions.
The cinematic flair of Alan Wake 2, with its stunning visuals and captivating narrative, clearly reflects this influence. The game's success has firmly established Remedy as a leading studio in Europe.
Remedy's vision extends beyond the realm of horror games. Naughty Dog has set a benchmark in crafting single-player cinematic experiences, with Uncharted and The Last of Us becoming pivotal titles in the PlayStation legacy. The Last of Us, in particular, is renowned as one of the most acclaimed franchises in gaming history.
More than a year after its launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive regular updates to enhance gameplay across all platforms. These updates bring several improvements, with a significant focus on optimizing the game for the PS5 Pro. A new graphics option called "Balanced" has been introduced, which seamlessly integrates the PS5 Pro Performance mode with the PS5 Pro Quality mode.
Additionally, minor adjustments to the graphic settings have been made to ensure a smoother framerate and a cleaner image quality in Alan Wake 2. Alongside the PS5 Pro enhancements, this update also addresses a few minor bugs that impact gameplay, particularly in the Lake House extension.
