The Making of Infinity Nikki
Exploring the Wonders of Miraland
Set to launch on December 4th (EST/PST), the fashion-centric open-world adventure Infinity Nikki has released a compelling 25-minute documentary highlighting its multi-year development journey. Through interviews with key team members, the feature reveals the dedication behind this innovative crossover of dress-up mechanics and open-world exploration.
The project began in December 2019 when the Nikki series producer approached CTO Fei Ge with a vision for an adventure game where players could freely explore as Nikki. The early development was so confidential that the team worked in a separate office to maintain secrecy. "We spent the first year building our core team, developing concepts, and laying the technical foundation," explained Ge.

Designer Sha Dingyu recalled the unique challenge of merging the Nikki IP's fashion mechanics with open-world gameplay. "Creating this hybrid experience required developing entirely new systems through years of research," Sha noted, describing the process as groundbreaking for the genre.
Moving beyond the franchise's mobile roots, the team was committed to a major evolution for the series. "We could have made another standard mobile sequel," Ge acknowledged, "but we wanted to push technological boundaries." This dedication extended beyond coding - the producer even handcrafted a detailed clay model of the game's central landmark, the Grand Millewish Tree, to inspire the team.
The documentary offers breathtaking previews of Miraland's diverse environments, particularly focusing on the magical Grand Millewish Tree and its playful Faewish Sprites. Designer Xiao Li emphasized the team's attention to worldbuilding: "NPCs have their own daily routines independent of player actions, making Miraland feel truly alive."
Industry Veterans Join the Team

The game's stunning visuals reflect its all-star development team. Alongside Nikki series veterans, the project recruited international talent including Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild) as Lead Sub Director and concept artist Andrzej Dybowski (The Witcher 3).
After 1,814 days of development since its December 2019 inception, Infinity Nikki prepares for its December 2024 launch. With anticipation building, players worldwide await their chance to explore Miraland with Nikki and her loyal companion Momo this holiday season.
